I-10/I-110 Freeway Management System and Regional Transportation Management Center

The Genesis CEI team was retained by FDOT District 3 for a part in the "Design, Build, Operate, and Maintain" contract for the I-10/I-110 Freeway Management System and Regional Transportation Management Center in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties for a period of ten years. The construction scope included installation of conduit and fiber optic cable along I-10 from the Florida/Alabama state line to the Santa Rosa County Mile Marker 15.716 (one mile east of SR 87) and along the entire length of I-110. Conduit was attached to bridges within this corridor or existing conduit installed by FDOT for ITS use was intercepted and populated with fiber for this project.
Other work included installation of various concrete support foundations for cameras, dynamic message signs, and vehicle detection devices. A weather station was also installed on I-10 near the Bay Bridge. Plans for the location of the Regional Traffic Management Center were developed as part of the work.
